Our Story

“Aside from providing personal moral support, Komunitas Taufan also helps patient’s families with additional expenses needed when caring for their children in the hospital, such as transportation costs, milk, diapers, etc. These are not covered by BPJS (government insurance scheme) and from my personal experience, often are needed most and must be made available.”

“Patients need to be entertained an their parents need a shoulder to lean on… When the child has undergone years of treatment, we call them Professor. If only for a few monhs, we call them Chief (of the district)… During the day, we often joked around and laughed, but in the evening, you hear the parent cries…”

“New patients usually receive a lot of support from relatives and friends in the beginning. But after a month or two, the amount of support dwindles. That was also what I experienced… The parents must be strong so their child can also be strong.”
